I am thrilled to announce my selection as a finalist in the prestigious Barga Jazz 2024 International Competition! This year, I had the incredible opportunity to arrange one of my favorite jazz compositions, Shade of Jade by the legendary Joe Henderson. Known for its captivating harmonic structure and intricate melodic lines, Shade of Jade has always resonated deeply with me, and creating an arrangement for this competition allowed me to explore its rich textures in new ways. My arrangement was brought to life by the incredible Chris Cheek, whose saxophone artistry added a unique dimension to the performance.
Being recognized by Barga Jazz is a true honor, and I look forward to sharing my work alongside other talented composers and arrangers at this esteemed festival. This experience represents not only a personal milestone but also a chance to continue growing as an artist, bringing fresh sounds to the ever-evolving world of jazz.
